Transfer Laser Disc to DVD or Digital FilesThe first laser media storage technology marketed to consumers, laser discs marked the beginning of the digital era. While storing video in an analog format, they provided video quality far superior to the betamax and VHS formats of the day. Their ability to allow the user to "jump" to certain portions of the program opened up many possibilities in the educational market and movie buffs appreciated enjoying their favorite films in the "high definition" format of the day.
